In each of the rounds, The Astro Support Team nominated one winning school, with Fowey winning the chance to have a live chat with Major Peake when he returns from the ISS this summer.
Stargazing will be on hand to bring viewers the highlights of the spacewalk, which will take place earlier in the day, starting at 12:55 GMT.
Hoisting a rectangular voltage regulator that would weigh 200 pounds (90 kilograms) on Earth, Peake will have to maneuver more than 200 feet (60 meters) out of the International Space Station airlock to the worksite, the USA space agency told reporters.
As NASA astronauts “Major Tim” Peake and Tim Kopra get primed for Friday, January 15 spacewalk to fix a faulty Sequential Shunt Unit (SSU) aboard the International Space Station (ISS), they have poured out their hearts to pay tribute to “Starman” David Bowie who died from cancer just last weekend – America Space writes. Once given the green light, Major Peake will follow with the replacement equipment.
They typically last between five and eight hours.
Once that’s done, they’ll lay cables and replace a valve that was removed previous year during remodelling.
Tim is the first United Kingdom sponsored astronaut and joined the ISS on December 15 2015.
The mission will see Tim and his crewmates work on unique experiments that can’t be completed on Earth, with the overall aim of improving the understanding of the fundamentals of science and to demonstrate new applications for science and technology.
Here are four ways you can be sure you’ll be amongst the first to know what’s going on.
