Time flies: UK’s Prince George gets ready for nursery school

Kate and Wills’ new family photo was taken in the garden in Kensington Palace at the end of Autumn by photographer Chris Jelf. The 2-year-old wore Start-Rite’s Jo style for the photo opp with Kate Middleton, Prince William and Princess Charlotte.

What’s in a name?

In enrolling Prince George in the modest nursery, Prince William and his wife are staying true to their wishes of giving their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 7 months, as normal an upbringing as possible.

“As George begins to attend nursery, they continue to ask for his privacy to be respected”, Kensington Palace said.

Today, the royals released their first Christmas card as a family and a sweet message to go with it.

A new family portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte has been released just in time for Christmas.

Rather than send George to a school in London, the couple have chosen to send the future king to a nursery school near their home, close to the Queens Sandringham estate. There are more than 600 Montessori schools in the United Kingdom, but the method has been criticized for giving children too much freedom in the classroom and shunning homework.

The outdoor-set picture features Charlotte and George, as well as a toy train. We’re sure cheeky George will LOVE nursery!

Westacre Montessori School nursery is located on a private road and was rated as good by OFSTED in its latest inspection in June 2015. “I am honored that the Duke and Duchess have made a decision to share it with the public”, he said.

It said the nursery was not yet rated as outstanding because: “Staff do not always seize opportunities to promote children’s learning and deeper thinking skills to the highest level”.
