Bosses at the show’s broadcaster, the BBC, controversially parted ways with the programme’s previous presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond a year ago (15), and replaced them with a team of presenters led by British TV host Chris Evans, 50, and actor Matt LeBlanc, 48.

The revamped BBC Two show now has Chris Evans and former Friends star Matt LeBlanc in the driving seat.

After attracting 4.4 million viewers and peaking at 4.7 million in the United Kingdom, according to The Telegraph, Evans took to social media to defend the episode, which some fans have deemed “boring”.

Reportedly, the show was watched by 4.7 million viewers compared to the 5.3 million viewers that watched the last episode of the series which Hammond, Clarkson and May hosted.

As well as the much-vaunted revamped show which hit screens on Sunday night, producers have also put together a programme called Extra Gear, which is only accessible online.

Odds setters at fellow British bookmaker Ladbrokes believe that this could well be the final series of the iconic British motoring show, pricing its cancellation at just 1/2.

The show, which is on BBC Two at 8pm, has seen many presenters come and go.

Even with the BBC backing the newly remodeled series, fans were pretty adamant that the version they were most excited for was the new one starring Clarkson, May and Hammond, which will premiere on Amazon Prime later this year. FACT”, he added. “Won it’s slot. FACT. Still number one on iPlayer. “FACT. These are THE FACTS folks”, the television personality wrote Monday.

The pair also raced from London to Blackpool in roofless Reliant Rialtos. Since the show debuted in the United Kingdom on Sunday, he has yet to send out a single tweet to give viewers an idea of what he’s thinking.
