Temperatures will hover in the low 40s through the remainder of the week.

The Doppler radar shows where the center of the storm is and where all the snow is now falling.

It states: “A strong storm system will bring a wintry mix of rain, sleet, and snow to portions of northeast Iowa and northwest IL”.

“We closed school today because we were unsure if we could safely transport students to school this morning due to weather and road conditions”, PR-B Superintendent Dave Endicott said Monday via email. Travel will be hard at best Monday, if not unsafe, especially Monday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures during the snow event are expected to remain in the 20s even overnight. Plan on slowed travel and reduced visibility.

The snow storm has dumped a lot of snow range anywhere from 6 inches at the Billings airport although up to 12 ½ inches the Glasgow airport. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts via the National Weather Service, Gray, Maine outpost.

Snow will be heaviest west of Boston and especially Route 495. There will be a 60 percent chance of rain mixed with snow at about midnight.

An intense surface low will push through the Midwest on Monday and Tuesday, producing snow, sleet, and rain.

There is potential for heavy snowfall of 5-8 inches in the Philadelphia area. Rain and snow likely developing at night. Now, a second March nor’easter is preparing to bear down on the region Tuesday night into Wednesday. The snow will become scattered on Tuesday, eventually tapering off. A few rumbles of thunder are also possible.

After noon the snow will pick up an intensity over inland areas but it will be raining along the coastline.

Occasional snow will continue on Tuesday, with another one to two inches of accumulation possible. North wind 11 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Fifty-seven members of Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative, mostly in Frankford and Wantage, remained without power on Monday afternoon.

Winter will be in full effect this week for various parts of Canada, particularly Atlantic Canada and the Prairies. Minor accumulations are expected, and most roads will be okay.
