Transformers Sequels Get Release Dates

February 13 01:10 2016

What is there left to talk about in the world of rapidly transforming robots, it boggles the mind, but press on, indecipherable aliens. Just this morning Paramount announced release dates for three TRANSFORMERS films which will keep up supplied with over-the-top explosions and attractive people sweating for the next four years. That makes it the 15th highest-grossing film of all time, and the second-highest grossing title in the Transformers franchise. We know that Michael Bay is coming back to direct Transformers 5, but the sixth movie in the franchise, according to Hasbro (via MovieWeb) is going to be a spinoff movie focused on Bumblebee.

Before we get to Bumblebee’s solo adventure, though, we have Transformers 5 to look forward to.

The Transformers universe will continue on past a fifth movie, whether Michael Bay likes it or not.

The yearly release schedule is an ambitious move for the series, which has typically taken two or three years between installments. The box office performance of that latter film – and audience reactions to Wonder Woman’s debut in it – might determine whether Diana (Gal Gadot) stands her ground against the Autobots or flies her invisible plane to a new release date. The next “Transformers” movie will be released next year, with another in 2018 and another in 2019. Rumors of a possible Bumblebee movie began to circulate last summer when Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner suggested, “We could see stories told around Bumblebee and other characters”.

After that, Transformers 6 will hit theaters on June 8th 2018 followed by, you guessed it, Transformers 7 on June 28th 2019.

So it seems a no-brainer that Paramount would want to add more Transformers to its list.

Prepare yourselves for THREE more Transformers movies
