Trishala Dutt Videochats ‘Daddy Dearest’ Sanjay Dutt, Welcomes Him Home

The son of late actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Sanjay was released from the Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ) in Pune. “Sanjay Dutt’s first film, after his release from jail, will be directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Kriaj Entertainment Pvt”.

Dutt was accorded a warm welcome as he stepped out of Mumbai airport after flying from Pune in a chartered aircraft with his family members. According to jail officials, Dutt was assigned cane work making of paper bags in his cell due to security reasons. This was said to be a part of a cache of arms and explosives used in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts. The actor, who was addressing media with his wife Manyata and kids, was asked about Salman Khan.

The father-daughter bond had hit a rough patch earlier as Trishala Dutt didn’t take the news of Sanjay Dutt getting married to Manyata, his third wife, very well. Yes, Sanjay Dutt has penned down as many as 500 poems while he was in prison, reports a leading daily. This was then reduced to five years, following which he surrendered to serve the remaining sentence. “I was convicted in Arms Act”. If he would have been alive, he would have been the happiest person. “Finally the day has arrived today that I walked out of the jail as a free man”, he said.

At his home in Mumbai, he told reporters that he fought legal battles for 23 years to be a free man. “I wanted to taste freedom”. But he was recently granted a remission of 144 days on the basis of good behaviour and activities like running a radio programme.

Sanjay Dutt became wildly popular for his Hindi film roles as a reformed thug who follows the teachings of pacifist freedom fighter Mohandas Gandhi.
