Trump campaign CEO faced domestic violence charge in 1996

August 26 23:00 2016

For all the noise Steve Bannon’s media company has made over the previous year about supposed voter fraud, the former Breitbart exec and current Donald Trump campaign CEO doesn’t seem to mind (possibly) committing it himself.

The court file has not been released yet, but the L.A. County Criminal Court’s database confirms that the criminal charges against Bannon were filed and ultimately dismissed. The report mentions her talking about “3 or 4” earlier incidents that “became physical”. She added that Bannon has a great relationship with his ex-wife and kids. Their twin daughters were less than a year old at the time of the incident. “He pulled her down, as if he was trying to pull [her] into the auto, over the door”. The police report notes that an officer saw red marks on her neck and wrist, according to Politico. She told police he then grabbed her by the neck and tried to get her into the vehicle. Piccard says she fought him by hitting him in his face and managed to get free. Whatever criminal acts Bannon has allegedly committed in his personal life are nearly irrelevant – the guy proudly runs a website that specializes in soft-core white-supremacist commentary. Stephen’s lawyer allegedly “threatened” Mary, telling her she “would have no money [and] no way to support the children” if their case went to trial. He hurled it on the floor and the phone broke. When she tried to call 911, she told police that Bannon grabbed the phone and threw it across the room.

When asked by CNN to respond to Trump’s charge that she was a “bigot” on Wednesday evening, Clinton said he was “taking a hate movement mainstream”.

She accidentally woke him up when she went to feed their infant twins, see, and things went downhill from there. Piccard thanked the police for coming so soon.

Here’s how the police report describes what happened.

He was charged in February 1996 with domestic violence, battery and attempting to dissuade a victim from reporting a crime, but the case was dropped when Piccard did not show up in court.

Piccard said that they had been together for some six and half years before they got married. It’s obvious that Bannon is no epitome of responsibility though he has accused others of being irresponsible including Bill Clinton.

The Trump campaign declined to comment on Bannon’s registration. But the situation is still bleak for Trump – and new revelations over Bannon’s history with domestic abuse will likely be another setback in the campaign’s efforts to improve Trump’s image with women. A Trump campaign spokesman only said the new campaign leader had since moved to another Florida address.
