The Kremlin has since demanded an apology from Fox News for O’Reilly’s offensive question suggesting Putin is a killer.

“You can not compare any leaders in our country to what Vladimir Putin has done”, said Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota during an appearance on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

Trump said: “There are a lot of killers. What, do you think our country’s so innocent?”

The Kremlin responded on Monday.

“We think such words a Fox News correspondent are unacceptable, insulting”, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov told reporters, according to Russia’s state-run RIA news agency.

Two of President Donald Trump’s top GOP allies are defending his recent remarks that seemed to suggest he believes the USA and Russian Federation occupy the same moral ground when it comes to killings. This is not the first time Trump has defended Putin’s reputation for running a government that crushes dissent and potentially kills journalists.

“What do you think, our country’s so innocent?” came Trump’s reply, implying that there’s not that much difference between the two nations.

“We do want to better our relations with Russia”, Ms Haley said. Ben Sasse told ABC New: ‘I don’t know what the president’s trying to do with statements like he allegedly has on O’Reilly on the Super Bowl tonight.

“A lot of killers around, believe me”.

He added: “Take a look at what we’ve done too”.
