City News Service reports the victim had been jogging with a group called Godfather Sean’s Rose Parade Run, which has run the parade route annually for 14 years. The political message was written before Iowa and Stanford faced off in the 102nd Rose Bowl.
The Grand Marshal for the 2016 Rose Parade will be award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns.
A CBS reporter interviewed Mr Pate after the parade, who said he considered the billionaire candidate to be despicable, and that “this is just the start”.

Danny Chan, a pastor with the Eagle Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church, said he expected upward of 150 people, mostly families with children and teens, to attend from his congregation.
Security on the ground for the parade in Pasadena, north of Los Angeles, had been tight.
On Thursday, Chan said he had already noticed a number of stepped-up measures, including extra patrols and more surveillance cameras.
