The Mason-Dixon poll of 820 Florida voters was conducted from Tuesday through Thursday and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. Johnson is preferred among 13 per cent of likely voters in the libertarian-leaning state, and Jill Stein, the Green Party nominee, is receiving support from 4 per cent of the state’s electorate.

Clinton’s coverage since the debate has been much more positive than Trump’s and more positive than she has typically received. The two were virtually tied in the last Fox poll, when Clinton had 41 percent support, compared to Trump.

A majority of voters in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia all told Public Policy Polling that Clinton got the better of Trump in their first showdown.

Hillary Clinton has emerged from the first presidential debate with a small bounce in the polls, Politico/Morning Consult has found.

The previous debate TV record was 80.6 million, set in 1980 for the only debate between President Jimmy Carter and Republican challenger Ronald Reagan. Clinton was joined by former Democratic rival Sen.

Clinton also polled favourably among younger voters across the board.
