Trump to Central Intelligence Agency: ‘I am with you 1000 percent’

For months, US President Donald Trump fought a running public battle with the intelligence community, attacking it as ineffective and incompetent.

“He could have kept it very simple and said: “I’m here to build some bridges”.

Trump’s visit had been viewed as an effort to fix his tense relationship with the agency, after he frequently undermined and criticized intelligence officials’ assertions that Russian Federation had interfered in the election campaign.

Those kinds of media manipulation skills were on display when the media lapped up the anti-Trump allegations from Brennan’s Central Intelligence Agency, packaged in the form of anonymous sources. All the world’s a stage to Trump.

“There’s been a lot of talk in the media about the responsibility of holding Donald Trump responsible, and I’m here to tell you that it goes two ways”, Spicer said.

Still, there is hope that Pompeo, already well respected by many in the intelligence community, can help mend the rift. “We are going to start winning again”.

He claimed the feud was invented by the media, and called reporters ‘among the most dishonest human beings on earth’. The media also later reported that the NPS was ordered to stop tweeting after it retweeted comments about the size of the inaugural crowd.

Several current and former USA intelligence officials have expressed concern, saying the contempt Trump already has shown for the CIA and the rest of the intelligence community has taken a toll on morale.

Former CIA director John Brennan, who left the agency late last week, said over the weekend that he was saddened by the president’s statements and that the president should be ashamed of himself.

Trump’s tweet about Brennan came after the then-CIA chief said in Fox News interview on January 15 that Trump “does not fully” understand the threat of Russian Federation and cautioned Trump to be “very disciplined” in what he posts to his Twitter.

“CIA’s relationship with the president has been essential to our nation’s strength and security”, acting director Meroe Park said prior to introducing Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. He said Trump would meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May in Washington at the end of the week and with Peña Nieto at the end of the month.

President Trump’s first order of business, just hours after being sworn in, was signing an executive order aimed at rolling back the Affordable Care Act.

Trump used his personal Twitter feed for posts on Saturday, rather than the official @POTUS one.
