For months, US President Donald Trump fought a running public battle with the intelligence community, attacking it as ineffective and incompetent.

Trump’s visit had been viewed as an effort to fix his tense relationship with the agency, after he frequently undermined and criticized intelligence officials’ assertions that Russian Federation had interfered in the election campaign.
Those kinds of media manipulation skills were on display when the media lapped up the anti-Trump allegations from Brennan’s Central Intelligence Agency, packaged in the form of anonymous sources. All the world’s a stage to Trump.

Still, there is hope that Pompeo, already well respected by many in the intelligence community, can help mend the rift. “We are going to start winning again”.

Trump’s tweet about Brennan came after the then-CIA chief said in Fox News interview on January 15 that Trump “does not fully” understand the threat of Russian Federation and cautioned Trump to be “very disciplined” in what he posts to his Twitter.
