Trump tries to regain footing after week of trouble

In the September 26 CNU survey Clinton received 34 percent of the vote among Virginia millennials to 27 percent for Johnson, 23 percent for Trump, 4 percent for McMullin and 4 percent for Stein.

Trump reported paying no federal income taxes in 1978, 1979, 1984 and likely at least two other years in the early 1990s, according to documents unearthed by The Daily Beast, Politico and The Washington Post.

The polling forecast website FiveThirtyEight now has Clinton with a 70.2 percent chance of winning the White House and Trump with a 29.1 percent chance. A four-way race that included Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein did little to assuage women, with Trump still taking in 42 percent to Clinton’s 47.

Donald Trump rallied thousands of supporters in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Saturday night and launched harsh attacks against his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Voters do not believe that he should try to score points by bringing up her husband’s sexual indiscretions, however. 2 among 805 likely North Carolina voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

Just 26 percent of registered voters said they would be OK with that strategy, and 14 percent gave no answer. Even among Republicans, 27 percent said Clinton won; 42 percent of Republicans said he won. Seven in 10 said it would be inappropriate and 19 percent said be my guest.

In what was billed as a speech on the economy, Clinton went after Trump’s record as a businessman in light of a weekend published report that Trump declared a $916 million loss on his businesses in 1995 that may have let him avoid federal income taxes for up to 18 years. A third said it was fine.

“There’s been a lot of talk about sex tapes today and in a unusual turn of events only one adult film has emerged today, and its star is Donald Trump“, said Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill, adding he hadn’t seen the film.

“He would have let you twist and fall”, she said.

In Ohio, 33 percent of those questioned identified as Democrats and 31 percent as Republicans.

Prior to the first presidential debate, Clinton and Trump were locked in a statistical tie Centennial State, according to earlier CNN/ORC and Quinnipiac polls conducted in September. Johnson received 8 per cent of the vote, and Stein got 2. Those Clinton voters appeared to have migrated to the “others” category in the poll, which are voters who declined to pick either Clinton or Trump.

“If not paying taxes makes him smart, what does that make the rest of us?” the narrator asks in the spot to air nationally on cable networks. Another 4 percent said they were undecided.
