Trump’s Inaugural Speech – Terrific On Trade Then Terrible On Trade

January 24 06:39 2017

“What you can’t argue is that the women’s march yesterday drew half a million people into the city, and that’s pretty unprecedented for a march the day after inauguration”. In his vernacular, it would be “yuge”. The fact that he returned to his campaign themes immediately after taking oath as president was resounding proof of Trump’s determination to pursue a course that many hoped would be election rhetoric and not state policy. Plus, I think the popularity of this argument is augmented by the fact that it helps staunch Republicans who knew he was temperamentally unfit to serve as President, who knew he had zero business being in the Oval Office, justify their decision to vote for him.

Now, had this been any other president, attendance wouldn’t have been an issue.

Along with her daughter and great niece, both of whom are named Shirin Amini, and her daughter’s partner, she flew from San Francisco to Washington to express her opposition to Trump.

We’ve been instructed not to take our new president literally but instead seriously (in the felicitous phrasing of Salena Zito). There is also photographic evidence of volunteers unloading similar floor coverings for the 2013 inauguration.

The anticipatory crowd was given exactly what it wanted to hear in Trump’s inaugural address. But those that vilified Trump, dropped the F-bomb, or displayed lewd depictions of the female anatomy (and you’d be amazed at how many there were) left me cold.

We can be the land of plenty or the land of chaos – the distance between the two is inches.

Newly Trump-led agencies and departments are also starting to assert their authority. The leader of the free world shouldn’t have his press secretary deliberately lie during the first press conference of his term.

“Busy week planned with a heavy focus on jobs and national security”. We simply can not afford to be listening to lies. This was shown by massive protests around the world, in which an estimated 5 000 000 women marched for their rights in various different countries. The perception of Trump being a hardliner is, therefore, commonly shared across the board.

As the events wrapped up, many on the right were quick to dismiss their significance. I watched Trump’s speech live and then replayed it.

“Violent crime increased about 4 percent in 2015, but that is a small blip in a decades-long decline in crime”, wrote The New York Times’ Matt Apuzzo on Friday. As president, Trump has be more inclusive, embrace the values of tolerance and diversity that are the cornerstone of American democracy and continue to bear the mantle of world leadership that other countries expect of the United States. Approximately 500,000 took a stand in the nation’s capital.

The TPP threatened the sovereignty of the United States, limited the constitutional powers of Congress, and would have further undermined America’s ability to compete freely and fairly with countries around the world for jobs and investment. It is also worth noting that these protests went off without a hitch, not a single report of violence.

Trump, who was inaugurated 11 a.m. Friday in Washington D.C., toWok the oath of office with approval ratings at a historic low of 37 percent compared to approval ratings for previous presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, according to a January 20 The Hill article. President Trump wants to fix that. We’re ready for whatever he may decide to throw at us.

For someone who complains about the US government paying too much for products, as Trump often does, looking at the higher expense of excluding foreign competition from USA government purchases might convince him to change his mind. Besides, multinational American enterprises like Microsoft and IBM have created hundreds of millions in profits through globalization. Ben Carson on race relations, but I’m afraid he won’t, and that could lead to the downfall of his presidency.
