Turnout for Ohio’s early voting trails past elections

On Friday, early voting turnout for Denton County totaled a record 20,506 in-person ballots cast. Roughly four in ten (38%) Americans report having only some confidence, while close to one in five (17%) say they have little confidence their vote will be accurately counted.

Following the election, there is a canvass of votes that lasts for three days or more. Waiting until the deadline may not provide sufficient time for voters to receive their ballots and send them back on time.

As of last Monday, the latest information that was available from the OH secretary of state, Lucas County was one of the lowest-turnout counties, both in the number of people requesting a mail-in ballot and the number of people voting early.

This is the first presidential election to take place under Colorado’s new voting model, which was introduced in 2013.
