Dele Alli scored two nearly identical goals as Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at White Hart Lane, ending the Blues’ 13-match winning run in the Premier League and moving within seven points of the leaders.

The win, played out in an electric atmosphere under the lights at The Lane, lifts Tottenham to third in the table, seven points shy of Chelsea. The Blues still have a five-point cushion at the top, but only five points cover the next five teams.

“We must work hard and be pleased with our position in the table, but know this league is tough until the end”.

“It is one step forward for the team and it is important to keep going”, Pochettino said.

“Against Arsenal, we weren’t a team, today we were”.

“Hector Bellerin had a knock so he was uncertain to play, and that’s the problem with only 48 hours (between games); you have to play some players again”.

They were all Dele Alli fans last night.

Thibaut Courtois, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and David Luiz form a back four who have conceded the fewest amount of goals, and kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

Once more, Alli emphatically showed him how it was done in the 54th minute. Dembélé and Victor Wanyama will cover the center of the pitch while a trio of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Harry Kane will lead the attack.

John Terry has issued a rallying call after Chelsea’s winning run was ended by Tottenham on Wednesday.

“We have great players, experienced players”, said the Brazil global.

Costa and Hazard also had underwhelming games but a lack of commitment was surely not the reason for it. Mauricio Pochettino mirrored Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, and the Argentine’s backline of Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen dutifully stuck to their task of sticking close to the Chelsea attackers.

“Now I think every team want to stop our run, not just Tottenham“. After the Champions League exit in Monaco a matter of days earlier, Pochettino detected the signs of his players getting their groove back. “At the start of the season, not one person mentioned this”.

Chelsea could have gone eight points clear at the top with a first victory at White Hart Lane since 2012 and while five points is still a healthy margin over nearest rivals Liverpool, Conte insists the title race is now wide open.

“You don’t really speak about us and we don’t look around us at the moment”, said Wenger, of Arsenal’s title chances. “We won 13 games in a row, we lost tonight, but we’re still in there for the title”.
