FilePic: EPACANBERRA: A number of schools in the Australian capital city of Canberra have been forced to evacuate after receiving a bomb threat call earlier Tuesday, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) police said on its Twitter account.
“The threats appear to come from overseas with no credible evidence they could be carried out here”.
Students in Arlington and Milton were evacuated after both districts received threats on Tuesday morning.

Police were informed of the threat against Tullawong about 8:30am.
“There is nothing amusing about a threatening phone call that causes unnecessary distress, fear and use of valuable police resources”, Detective Acting Station Sergeant Marcus Boorman said today.
Police are warning that making such threats is a serious criminal offence and every effort will be made to identify the person or persons responsible.
The Department of Education and Child Development released a statement a short time ago saying the schools had been evacuated.
Police Scotland are investigating whether the Capital threats were linked to those in the rest of the UK.
“Each school is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its students and no students are in danger”, a department spokeswoman said. The threatening calls to interstate schools occurred over several days.
The spokeswoman said the threats were “very low level” and said there was “nothing at all” to suggest the threats were terror related.
