Planned Parenthood announced on Thursday it will endorse Hillary Clinton for president-a choice that, while unsurprising, marks the first time the women’s health organization has endorsed a candidate in a presidential primary.

Planned Parenthood knows that Hillary Clinton will protect and defend women’s health care and reproductive rights”, argued Logan Anderson of the campaign.

This week on the campaign trail, Hillary Clinton wins key endorsements, Mike Huckabee lashes out, and Marco Rubio criticizes Obama’s funding of Planned Parenthood.

Hillary Clinton holds the strongest record on reproductive rights of all presidential contenders in not just this election, but in American history”. Planned Parenthood faces defunding efforts at both federal and state levels, as well as inflammatory attacks in OH and allegations of a video depicting an aborted fetus being dismembered that caused Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina to attack the organization. “Thankfully, President Obama will exercise his veto power to stop the Republicans from cutting off women, men, and young people from vital health care services at Planned Parenthood-including cancer screenings, well-woman exams, and STI and HIV tests-and taking away health coverage from 18 million people”.

“Everything Planned Parenthood has believed in and fought for over the past 100 years is on the ballot”, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, said about the organization’s endorsement, the New York Times reported.

While Planned Parenthood is not directly mentioned in the bill’s text, the organization loses funding under Section 206, titled “Federal Payments to States”.

Clinton will formally accept Planned Parenthood’s endorsement during a rally Sunday in Manchester, New Hampshire, which will kick off the group’s electoral season.

“This week was a jarring reminder of what’s at stake in 2016”, Clinton added in a statement.

Hillary Clinton was dominating the Planned Parenthood vote long before receiving its endorsement, collecting more than $22,000 from the abortionist group-20 times higher than the rest of the Democratic field combined. Her campaign celebrated the groundbreaking announcement in a tweet signed “H”. Clinton’s rivals have combined for about $1,000 in contributions from the group’s employees.
