The co-main event of UFC 207 was a bantamweight title match between title holder Dominick Cruz (22-2) and Cody Garbrandt (11-0).
The animosity between Garbrandt and Cruz no doubt played a role in the Team Alpha Male product getting a shot at the title over the likes of Dillashaw, John Lineker or Jimmie Rivera.
Cruz had his best round in the second, as he was best able to impose his will.
Cruz got the action started with a sneaky right hand as Garbrandt missed with a left hook on his exit. “He’s going to figure that out in the first round when he’s in there missing and looking for that big punch that he’s landed on everybody else, and he goes to land that punch and I’m gone, and then he goes to land it again and I’m not there again”.

Cruz also fought TJ Dillashaw once and Joseph Benavidez twice when they were members of the camp.
Dillashaw will fight John Lineker immediately before him and should he emerge victorious, he will likely face the victor of Cruz-Garbrandt in his next bout.
“No Love continued to mock Cruz”.
Cruz did not leave the room the whole time, but he took several shots at Garbrandt when he heard his opponent throwing things outside the room. “One of these right hands or left hooks, you’re going to sleep”. There’s a scramble and Dillashaw momentarily takes Lineker’s back, but doesn’t secure the position and Lineker gets to his feet.
Somehow Cruz survived the onslaught and was back up and regained his famous composure. The building animosity was evident on Cruz’s face as he entered the octagon, and it appeared he might have lost the mental edge before the fight began. It was Magny’s fourth win in his last five fights. Garbrandt poured it on in the final 20 seconds and was in full command of the bout.
It was a dominant performance, and if the powers-that-be at the UFC want to maintain any semblance of competitive integrity, they need to give Dillashaw the next title shot at 135 pounds.
In the latest episode, fans get a behind-the-scenes look at the intense weigh-in between bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt, who have been exchanging heated words all week long.

“But if he can land one of his shots, he can easily put him out”.
Then we will really find out who knows what about the other man’s weaknesses.
But Lineker managed to absorb the former bantamweight kings heavy blows and survived the round. Big uppercut from Dillashaw and a kick. “Even though there were glaring setbacks that happened this year aside from the company’s success, UFC 207 is the right card to conclude the organization’s 2016 book on a high note and set the tone for another busy year”, said Mr. Icasiano when asked by BusinessWorld for his thoughts on the UFC 2016 finale.
Dominick Cruz is a b****.
“I’m fighting No. 1 contenders … he’s running from me”.
