There is a Slight Risk for severe weather starting this evening through tonight.
A band of thunderstorms is expected to develop ahead of this cold front and press into the region by Sunday evening.
Uncertainty continues next week in how quickly the cold closed low will move onshore the West Coast.
Monday and Tuesday will be cooler with wind and rain, but from there on in, things are going to improve considerably. Partly cloudy skies will continue overnight, with warm lows in the low 70s. There will be some sun in at least the first half of the day.
South Georgia has the potential for scattered severe thunderstorms on Sunday. Our WTXL First Alert Weather app can tell you if a storm near you has hail, strong winds or rotation. All modes of severe weather will be possible, including the threat of potentially strong and long track tornadoes. Chances of precipitation range from 30 to 50 percent for next week through Friday.
Some of the storms could bring some gusty winds, risky lightning and heavy rainfall. Winds kick up again on Monday with temperatures warming into the 70’s, which should make it the warmest day of the week.
Behind the front, there will be another blast of cooler air moving in on Monday.
After sunshine and low 40s Thursday, another storm system will bring rain, just rain late Friday and Saturday and high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s.
Good morning! A cold start as you’re out the door.
After tomorrow a freeze is possible Tuesday morning before warmer temperatures in the 60s and even 70s return. A High Wind Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for El Paso & Pueblo counties along I-25, and for the plains farther east. Wind gusts may occasionally reach 60 miles per hour in these areas, especially east of I-25.
