Areas, once again, northeast of Louisville stand the best chance at seeing these snow showers and a light accumulation around a dusting or so is possible. The good news, we are not expecting significant winter weather through Thursday, and a “warm up” is on the way by Friday and next Saturday.
As the cold air begins to move in locally, there will be heavy squalls around during Sunday afternoon and evening. High temperatures will dip into the upper 40s.
Sunday will see the Arctic Cold Front arriving early in the morning. There is a chance of accumulating snow on Wednesday. Temperatures expected to peak in the mid 40s by mid afternoon. That front may spin off a few snow showers through lunch time on Sunday where we could see some very light accumulation. This system will also need to be watched for a rain or snow chance, especially for our southern counties. Temperatures will be below normal with lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s.
It will be a cold day with highs from 40 to 45 across the region with winds from the north at 15-20 miles per hour Saturday morning, diminishing in the afternoon. Gusty winds will cause AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures to be within a few degrees of zero.
Bitterly cold temps settle in behind that for Monday and Tuesday with overnight lows hitting the single digits.
