A MS man allegedly shot and killed a Waffle House employee after she wouldn’t let him smoke inside the building.
Donnie Dobbs said the 52-year-old employee was shot in the head after arguing with the customer about smoking inside the restaurant around 1 a.m. Friday.
According to WLOX, the shooting took place inside the restaurant, after an employee asked customer Johnny Max Mount to put out a cigarette he was smoking. Mount is accused of refusing and instead removing a 9mm handgun hidden under his shirt, WMC reports. Police allege he shot the woman, who has not yet been identified, once in the head early Friday morning.
The employee was rushed to Merit Health Biloxi, where she died a short time later.
He’s been charged with first- degree murder and is being held on $2 million bond at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, police said. 90, near the Coast Coliseum.
Biloxi police arrested Mount as he was walking out of the restaurant. Within hours, the crime scene tape had been removed and the location was back open for business.
Warner said the Waffle House in which the slain waitress worked was smoke-free.
