Outside of thunderstorms, south winds will be strong and gusty. Right now, it looks like south central IN is seeing a good clearing, which could lead the way to strong storm.
The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a wind advisory Tuesday, ahead of severe storms that are expected to hit the Louisville area from 8 p.m.to 12 a.m.
“It will bring us a line of strong to possibly severe storms while many of you are sleeping”, Nussbaum said. Make sure you have the Live Doppler 13 Weather App with you as you had out and about today. “There is a small chance for a tornado and hail over 1” in diameter.
I expect that as we start the day on Tuesday we will have waves of moisture with some rumbles of thunder as well moving into our are.
A much warmer air mass is now pouring in, pumping up our temperatures. Thursday morning will be cool with most areas reaching the 40s for morning lows!
Much of the day Tuesday will be warm and windy with south winds at 20 to 25 miles per hour and gusting along with high temperatures in the mid to upper seventies. All counties and parishes along and south of Interstate-30 are in the “slight risk” zone for strong/severe storms, meaning scattered severe weather reports are possible, including isolated intense storms.
If the air column cools enough, we could see a bit of wet snow mix in or, if surface temperatures briefly cool to the freezing mark, even a bit of freezing rain.
Happy Tuesday! It’s a mild and muggy morning and despite increasing cloud cover for your Tuesday, highs will still climb well into the 80s under strong southerly flow.
