At its latest Nintendo Direct, the Japanese gaming giant shared an equally massive amount of news for the Switch again. The five new $359.99 Nintendo Switch bundles ship by September 29. However, it will likely still fall notably short of the original Wii which was the best selling home console device of all time at more than 100 million units.

There’s also third-party to consider. Video game developers, 2K Games, had acquired the services of one entire group whose sole goal was to make sure that the port to the Switch was successful come the release date.

Some Nintendo Direct streams focus on specific games and are branded as such.

“Nintendo doesn’t have an official support for Achievements and Leaderboards, like Sony or Microsoft“, wrote Crunching Koalas co-founder Tom Tomaszewski, “but we know that they’re working on it“. In addition to new titles, updates like button customization in ARMS and Kelp Dome stage in Splatoon 2 are also making their way to the Nintendo faithful.

The Steam Network followed in 2007, and PlayStation implemented Trophies in 2008.

Nintendo announced a Pokemon-themed New Nintendo 2DS XL.

Even then it doesn’t look like the Nintendo Switch will have any intention of slowing down beyond this year. What announcements do you hope to see during this week’s Nintendo Direct?

Other than Odyssey, there are a number of announced Switch and 3DS games that could be featured in the Direct, depending on how packed Nintendo wants to make the broadcast. You can literally take the Switch anywhere and you have two controllers attached that are ideal for a wide variety of mini games.

Nintendo started its successful Nintendo Direct format back in October 2011 in North America and Japan before expanding across the globe shortly after.

Super Mario Odyssey will introduce a photo mode, allowing players to take snapshots of Mario and co.at any point throughout the game, including (but not limited to) when he’s running around topless on a beach.

The Direct is expected to go live at 11pm United Kingdom time, (which is Midnight CEST).
