Let’s just start off with some of the basics. Shortly after the Season 6 finale aired on FX, the network was quick to make a seemingly smoothing Twitter post – but it was anything but. The show took a real life event and placed actors in a reenactment as the people who lived through it served as narrators.
As we know, Lee was also controlled by Scáthach toward the end of “Chapter 9”, killing Monet (Angela Bassett).
Lee is in the process of making another plea for Flora’s love as we find out that Flora is now missing, with all eyes on Lee as the kidnapper.
As Lee starts to rush out in search of her daughter, a vengeful Polk crashes the interview and shoots up the set.
Then we got the second show-within-a-show of the evening, with Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson, in her third role this season) from “American Horror Story: Asylum” interviewing Lee live on her TV show. She wants the whole story, no bullshit. Ultimately, no one would survive the season as Lee sacrificed herself and became a ghost so that Flora wouldn’t feel like she had to protect Pricilla. He is killed, but not before striking Lana with the butt of his rifle. Where can the show go next?
Yet another faux-reality show is presented, a special episode of “Roanoke Spirit Chasers“, in which various paranormal experts investigate the real Roanoke home to see if it’s truly haunted. But that also makes me wonder if we’ll be seeing more Asylum characters soon. Watch for Lee to call Lana out on having killed her own son (not mentioning the shooting of Bloodyface). In fact, Dandy Mott is an iconic villain on the show, though he was killed during the show.
Lee is the only person who survived the horror at My Roanoke Nightmare, and a video recovered showed Lee confessing to murdering her husband Mason. Conveniently for Lee, she has a great excuse: she went through absolute hell. She found Flora, and stayed inside the house while police demanded her to come out for hours. (See: two bros making corny jokes and hamming it up for the camera.) The chasers go back during the Blood Moon, because of course they haven’t a lick of common sense. Some things never change. But as most seasons of American Horror Story ultimately do, it burned so bright and so fast that by the end of the installment, it was nothing more than a pile of ashes strewn about – a sad remnant of its ambitious beginnings. He promised “American Horror Story” fans that he and the writers intend to explore the witchy storyline further in the future, but not in Season 7. I loved how the show used multimedia to tell its story. There will be a time jump to her being put on trial for murder.
And if you’ll remember, as Pop Sugar pointed out, there was a moment in the finale where a model ship crashed to the floor and the camera gave it a hard look. Meanwhile, cast members such as Lady Gaga and Adina Porter, who have had more screen time, are credited as special guests. They only roast people alive-and they want to hear them scream. The only one left out was Hotel, but we already know it’s linked to Murder House through Billie Dean Howard. Watching him get gorily ripped from thorax to naval was pretty damn gnarly! Lee is acquitted once more.
Flora’s relationship with her mother was understandably strained after the trial and so she ran away from her grandparents’ house back to Roanoke to be with her colonial friend. As if all this wasn’t enough, we still have one more fake documentary to explore: “Spirit Chasers“.
