The video of White, who has been an officer for Gainesville for eight years, has received overwhelming support amid different police brutality reports across the country.

A Gainesville police officer was called on January 15 after a resident said local children were playing too loudly, but instead of breaking up the small basketball game, he joined in.

White arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. and “diffused” the situation.

The officers and the “Kazaam” star played a game with the kids while a group of awestruck neighbors looked on, presumably without any more noise complaints. “Do you believe that?” “Then he said, ‘I’ve got no problem with it'”.

Before he left, White told the kids “just try not to be too loud” and promised he’d come back with some backup for a game.

After seeing the viral video, O’Neal dropped by the station on Saturday to meet Officer White and offered to be his backup, the department noted its Facebook page. He then went out on the street and joined in on a game. There’s no audio, but after about a minute, one of the kids tosses the ball to White, who dribbles and takes a few shots. And play a little ball.

“I told you I was going to bring in some backup, right?” “You sure you can take them?” he taunts, pointing to a group of officers.

When the police officers showed back up to the neighborhood where the boys had been playing, they couldn’t believe their eyes when O’Neal got out of the auto. “Only you can change this”. “Stay out of trouble, listen to your parents”.

“This is a day those kids will never forget”, the department wrote on the video.
