Watch today’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’ reveal event here

Call of Duty’s developers Treyarch clearly don’t miss a trick, but while many will welcome the addition of this new on-trend gameplay mode it appears to have come at the cost of some of the more conventional aspects of a Call of Duty game.

Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar explained the Black Out map for Black Ops 4 will be 1,5000 times bigger than Nuketown, one of the franchise’s smallest and most popular maps.

The blackout mode itself was only shown in a brief “freeze frame” trailer highlighting many playable characters from the Black Ops universe’s past, and the new mode wasn’t available to test at a hands-on event after the announcement.

With about a month to go before E3 2018, Activision and developer Treyarch held an event to officially reveal Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Black Ops 4 Zombies also promises the most customizable action to date, new systems for creating and completing community challenges, and social systems designed to connect players.

A new and improved Zombies mode was confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 during its reveal event today in Los Angeles. It seems like the lack of single-player modes means the zombie experience will be fleshed out a little more this year, with Treyarch teasing several different scenarios that looked radically different from one another.

The second map, Voyage of Despair, is set on the Titanic, and the third map Blood of the Dead, is fan-favourite Black Ops 2 map Mob of the Dead remastered, with the original zombies team.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be out on October 12. It’s one thing to offer a small sampling of maps if you are focusing on a campaign and a new War Mode, but it’s another to do so without the pull on resources.

The Battle Royale mode will feature the biggest ever map in COD history.

“Black Ops 4 doesn’t have a traditional campaign“, said Treyarch boss Mark Lamia.

Weapons are being tweaked, too – giving each gun will have it’s own set of attachments – including something called “operator mods”, that give weapons extra features they wouldn’t normally have.

It’s no surprise that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is coming to PC. Black Ops 4 will not feature a traditional single player campaign. In fact, this will be the fourteenth consecutive year with a new Call of Duty game, which is truly astounding. Difficulty settings are also customizable to encourage repeat game play.
