The Friday night lights were extra bright last night at Novi High School in mi.

When the team learned that Robby’s mom has advanced cancer, the wildcats made a decision to give Debbie more than just a picture.

On Friday, however, that was not the case.

But the team had something special for him during this weekend’s game after they learned his mother has advanced cancer. The senior had always dreamed of scoring a touchdown.

Footage from the school’s field shows Mrs Heil breaking down in tears as her son crossed into the end zone.

A midseason football game became so much more for one high school water boy on Friday night.

“I’ve always been proud of him being the water boy … but this was incredible”. He noted that the opposing team even gave Robby a jersey that all the teammates had signed. She is terminally ill with bone cancer. “And the opportunity to put that helmet on tonight, it brought tears to my eyes tonight and tears all over the place”, head coach Jeff Burnside said.

“Coach Burnside wanted to make this happen and he was able to talk with the South Lyon East coach and make this happen”.

The coaches and players say, they’ll remember this for a long time.

“He feels he’s a part of the football team”, she said, according to Detroit News.

“It was a lot of fun”, Robby said.

For Debbie, seeing her son reach a goal in his life was more than a special moment in her own.
