Sunday will feature some rain changing over to snow.
Tomorrow is still going to be warm with a high of 82 degrees and a partly cloudy skies. Given the temperature at which we now sit (mid/upper 30s) and the intensity of incoming rain this evening, I expect that transition to happen a lot more quickly than previously anticipated. Low around 73. South wind around 20 miles per hour with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Friday afternoon high temperatures will be mainly in the 30s to low 40s Friday, with decreasing showers and decreasing clouds through the evening. This is because the center of the storm will be right over us. It’s even possible to go from heavy rain one minute to winter-like conditions if the front is strong enough. The weather service said the Omaha-Council Bluffs area could get up to an inch of snow Saturday.
There is a chance of some rain to round off the weekend late Sunday. We see a bit more sunshine by Wednesday as temperatures slowly rebound to near 60 with a stray shower chance both Wednesday and Thursday. As temperatures start to fall, some freezing rain and snow could mix in with the rain north of Madison late Friday and into early Saturday morning.
Snow totals of a foot are not out of the question for this area. Please be alert for stormy weather at the tail-end of the weekend as a strong cold front swings through.
Kenzie Kanak took the April 13 Your Saskatchewan photo near Dalmeny. Replacing it is a weekend of weather more likely to be found during the month of February.
