Wentz, Eagles get wakeup in 26-15 loss to Seahawks

November 26 05:16 2016

On Sunday afternoon, the Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 26-15, as reported by ESPN. They might have gained more by losing this contest than by winning some others.

The Seahawks didn’t need very long to take the lead. That team, the Green Bay Packers, rank 10th and might not keep that spot after a 42-24 loss on Sunday Night Football.

Still, Wentz was not sharp and has developed a habit of telegraphing his throws in recent weeks, head coach Doug Pederson said. We’re headed in the right direction. Nelson Agholor is awful.

Starting with a 72-yard touchdown run by Prosise on Seattle’s fifth offensive play, the Seahawks had six plays of 20 yards or more. The Eagles were without RBs Ryan Mathews (knee) and Darren Sproles (ribs) for most of the second half.

Everybody has stressed the Eagles problems at the wide receiver position, but the team’s cornerbacks don’t have enough speed and talent to shut down the league’s best wide receivers.

After hearing those comments, Pederson said that he is concerned about Agholor’s “well-being as a person”. After all, he’s still just a rookie, and as the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane notes, we can expect his play to follow a pattern in which “one week he’s up, the next he’s down”. “That way you can begin to clear your head”. Now he sees things so well and he’s fitting in so well. “So, he’s going to learn from it and he’s going to work hard and come back”.

“In the meantime, I am going to have to hold down this backfield”. “It’s a big factor for us”. At 5-5 now, we’re at that point of the season where we’ve got to rally together, string some games together and be a better offense.

Earlier in the game, Wilson scrambled and threw across his body to find Jimmy Graham on a 35-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the second quarter as Seattle built a 16-7 halftime lead. It was intercepted by Richard Sherman, setting up a short field for a touchdown that all but sealed it for the home team. “I just want to see where he’s at”. “We called the shot”. Just when you think you have it, you don’t.

We see that clearly now that Wilson is again improvising and ad-libbing his way through any difficulties, running away from pressure and throwing Seattle’s offense into a higher gear.

“I don’t know who is playing better than him right now”, Baldwin said of Wilson.

It looks like there’s a good chance that he’ll get some time to step back and let things decompress a bit.

The Eagles had a long first-half touchdown called back when Ertz’s apparent 57-yard reception from Wentz was wiped out by an illegal-formation call.

Seahawks quarterback Wilson, who won a Super Bowl with the franchise in 2014, is known for his athletic movement and ability to make plays on the run.

“We don’t count on anything except for the way we work”, Wilson said when asked about the team’s habit of finishing strong.

With the victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Pete Carroll now has 100 regular season victories in the NFL.

Theirs is a culture of raising levels and keeping them there. The Seahawks were five of 15 (33 percent).

As Sunday’s definitive result showed, they’re not there yet, regardless of how close they believe themselves to be.
