West Brom boss Pulis shocked by Brunt coin attack

Brunt said he was “disgusted and ashamed” with West Brom’s fans after being struck by a coin thrown by his own supporters as the Baggies exited the FA Cup in a shock 3-1 loss at Reading.

And, with Brunt going over to the away fans at the end of the game, one supporter threw a coin that struck the skipper directly in the face.

“Fans are frustrated we were 1-0 up and lost”.

Hector scored Reading’s second goal after Paul McShane levelled and Lucas Piazon fired in a stoppage-time third following Darren Fletcher’s opener.

“This was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen”.

“He’s got a cut under his eye – and it’s not too far away from his eye either – it’s an inch away from actually striking him in his eye”, Pulis added.

CHRIS Brunt had a word of warning for the cowardly West Brom fan who chucked a coin at his head: “I’ll meet him wherever he wants”.

“I spoke to Michael about playing that role and said ‘if you can develop another string to your bow, that holding midfielder, how many teams in the world play using that position?’ He can play for Chelsea in that role”.

DETECTIVES are investigating a number of incidents following Reading FC’s thrilling win over Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. “We will cooperate, I am sure, and make sure we find the person who threw it”.

And, the FA have subsequently confirmed they will investigate the incident.

And with 15 minutes left to play, the former Everton star could not save his side from ending their poor run of not winning a game in their last five encounters at Reading.

The versatile Northern Irishman did not pull any punches when discussing his thoughts on the incident and admitted that he hopes whoever threw the coin is caught by the police.
