“That’s what happened when I fell down before; you stand up, you get lightheaded”, he said, noting that this is only the second time his defibrillator has gone off.

The world seemed to stop right before the halfway mark in the game between the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Texas Longhorns, according to the Washington Post.

Texas Tech (17-10, 5-9) went cold from the field in both overtimes and wasted solid efforts from Keenan Evans and Niem Stevenson. By halftime, West had 20 points, which was already just one off his previous career best. He is averaging 5.7 points per game this season in 11.6 minutes per game. West continued his impressive play from the outside, scoring 20 first half points on 5-7 shooting from behind the arc and leading West Virginia to a 46-32 lead at the break.

Attention in the Coliseum was split between the game and the bench, as everyone was keeping an eye on Huggins while Jevon Carter took over in the second half as the Mountaineers bult their lead to 20 at 69-49, Carter’s point total jumping to 24 with still five minutes left.

Huggins was asked later in his postgame presser about the examination he underwent at halftime. The Mountaineers, who finish conference play with back-to-back games at Baylor and at home against the Cyclones, can ill afford a slip-up when they host ninth-place Texas on Monday night. Carter had 10 rebounds and four assists. It started a 21-3 run with 15 unanswered points, and West and Carter were the only ones to score for WVU.

The Texas lead would grow to 12-2, before an Adrian three and a Phillip free throw would cut the advantage to six points. “Now, we’ve just got to go out and do what we do”.

No. 19 Florida State 104, Boston College 72 • In Tallahassee, Fla., Dwayne Bacon had 16 points and 13 Florida State players had at least four points, helping the Seminoles bounce back from two straight losses with a victory over Boston College. His stat line was all zeroes in two minutes of play, but his time on the court proved important as it allowed West time to catch his breath after a torrid start to the game. They shot 10 of 24 from distance, while Texas made just 3 of 13 long-distance attempts.

The Mountaineers will next travel to TCU Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip off.
