Toggling the Night Shift mode on will start an automatic assessment of the time and location of the iOS device to determine the necessary shift from a blue screen to a more yellow-toned color, which puts less strain on the eyes.

Now head over to Settings General Software Update to download iOS 9.3 beta.

When iOS 9.3 announced Night Shift, a new mode that makes it less likely for your device’s light temperature to disturb your sleep schedule, many noted that it was virtually a carbon copy of F.lux, a Mac and jailbreak iOS app that we’ve previously called a Mac essential.

Apple’s new feature is strikingly similar to f.lux, a computer software that does the same thing to your screen, helping you sleep better.

The update also brought a series of new features to the iPad tablet, mainly designed for educational purposes, including Shared iPad for students, which lets students log in to any iPad in any classroom and personalize it.

The letter notes the health benefits of this technology to users, and teases the next phase of development for f.lux, as well as calling for Apple to allow its app on the App Store. Stocks also gets a new search option while the App Store adds in some new options as well. In the morning, it returns the display to its default settings.

iOS and OS X owners interested in running previews can register with the beta program here, then enroll their devices in one or both programs.

The much maligned Wi-Fi Assist feature is getting a slight upgrade in iOS 9.3.

Though useful, it doesn’t come cheap – you are required to purchase an Apple developer membership, which will set you back around £79 (roughly $112). Users can join the programme through Apple’s website for beta users.

One of the most talked about features of iOS 9.3 is Night Shift. We have been aware that this feature is coming ever since early 2015, when Apple revealed it is indeed working on such a functionality, and finally, Managed Apple IDs are indeed coming our way. You’ll need to enter your email address (which will then become your Apple ID), a strong password, your full name and your birthday. Once the page moves, the home button should be pressed while still holding the app. This will make the app zoom out on the edge of the screen. This app will suggest trending topics and give you “editor’s picks” of articles and stories as per the user’s taste. Users should expect to see these features whenever the system launches.
