While there’s been no official announcement either way regarding the Season 3 prospects for Marvel‘s Agent Carter, a new casting item has many fans wondering about the ultimate fate of the series. Not necessarily, but we are seeing some definite evidence now that the show’s star in Hayley Atwell is looking to over all of her bases.
Atwell’s role is in first position to Agents of SHIELD spinoff Agent Carter. Some also believe that since ABC has already greenlit two other Marvel TV shows, the network may choose to cut bait with Carter in order to make room for new programming. The CIU will be tasked with investigating cases where it appears the wrong person was convicted. That means that if Conviction goes to series, she would have to juggle both that and Agent Carter – if, and that is a big if – the modestly rated Marvel drama goes on to get a third season.
Atwell’s character name for the pilot?
Conviction comes from Jessica Jones’ Liz Friedman along with EPs Mark Gordon and Nicholas Pepper. People are obviously going to be wondering about whether or not this show will have any adverse effects on the future of Agent Carter. No doubt this script sparked interest at ABC as a result of the popularity of their series American Crime and the recent Netflix docu-series Making A Murderer. Well just have to have to hope its guilty of being engrossing, and innocent of whatever ends this properly.
