Look for snow-covered and slippery roads.

DAY: Cloudy. Light snow likely in the morning…Then a chance of light snow and patchy light freezing drizzle in the afternoon.

Most areas woke up Tuesday to a dusting to an inch of snow, with more on the way. 30 toward the PA/MD line.

Today | Mainly cloudy with snow showers around this morning.

There is a winter weather advisory in effect until noon on Wednesday and a coastal flood advisory was issued for the area from 8 to 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The Tri-Cities region could see three to six inches of snow in the lower elevations (under 4,000 feet) with higher amounts expected across the mountains of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

According to AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski: “During the weekend, much colder air will pour southward from eastern Canada….” Highs in the lower 20s. High temperatures in the lower 60’s. That will keep wind chills in the teens and single numbers through daybreak. Brief, heavy snow possible at times. Last flakes fall around 3 AM east of the Susquehanna River. Northwest winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts to 45 miles per hour.

Wednesday night, expect mostly cloudy skies, with a low of 20.

Winds of this magnitude will be hazardous to motorists, especially those with high profile vehicles.
