After an exciting pay-per-view (PPV) event WWE Roadblock, World Wrestling Entertainment is back with its most watched regular series.
Advertised for tonight: Big Cass vs. Rusev, and more! Lana set up Amore to go to her hotel room, only to have Rusev ambush him. What will go down at Raw’s last live special of 2016? He came along ringside and distracted the ref as Chris had Seth in a pin.
Two championships changed hands at the PPV, starting with Cesaro & Sheamus defeating The New Day for tag-team gold. The idea of Cesaro and Sheamus winning on Sunday night and then feuding once again was brilliant, but it did not solve other issues that exist like when will The Club reign supreme?
Can this storyline finally end?
Mick Foley hasn’t believed in Sami Zayn enough to give him a match with Braun Strowman, until tonight.
With Strowman dominating Zayn for so long, logic would say that Zayn would win this match but, logic is not big in the WWE. Can Seth Rollins come one step closer to Triple H by knocking off Chris Jericho or will the veteran “Y2J” prove that he is more than just a stepping stone for Seth Rollins? Kevin Owens hasn’t had what you would call a strong title reign thus far. With the Universal Championship on the line both Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns brought their A-game. Jericho and Seth Rollins are supporting cast members – they must continue their feud despite the fact it still falls to second place behind anything Owens signs his name to. The relationship with Chris Jericho has been entertaining to say the least, but it can not come to a head this Sunday. Kendrick received his run with the title and Perkins did as well. Now, all three men battle for the belt.
Rich Swann (C) vs. T.J. Perkins vs.
This just may be the shot in the arm that the Cruiserweight Division needs. Unless Sasha turns heel, which would be pointless after this awesome rivalry with Charlotte, the only other contenders to her throne are Nia Jax (zzz) and Emmalina, who I’m still bitter about not premiering this past Monday. But, at the end of the match, we finally got to see Neville again, and it was a different Neville than we are used to.
After an unusually complicated pinning combination, Banks quickly ties the match back up. We are now in sudden death overtime.
Sasha Banks will defend her Raw Women’s Championship, and Rich Swann will defend his Cruiserweight Title.
As Reigns laid on the announce table, Owens went up and hit a frog splash, but it didn’t break it. In the week that followed, Owens had this match signed in hopes that Jericho could get revenge and would therefore smooth over their relationship.
