Today is of course Xiaomi Mi 6 day and the Chinese company has finally peeled the curtain back on its latest flagship smartphone.
Mi 6 debuts the Snapdragon 835 processor in China. As per the listing, the Essential smartphone will draw its power from a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB RAM. It comes with a 5.15-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. He also claimed that the dual camera at the back has been “seamlessly integrated”.
During the launch event, Xiaomi claimed that the Mi 6 has a AnTuTu score of 184,292. It’s set to hit stores in China on April 28. Of course, one would expect nothing less from a flagship device and it’ll be interesting to see if it can manage more than that.
Stereo speakers: Similar to the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and HTC U Ultra, the Mi 6 also has a stereo speaker setup. Xiaomi actually announced several variants of the Xiaomi Mi 6, three regular variants, plus two special edition models, read on.
This camera provides a 2X lossless optical zoom.
Tomorrow, Xiaomi will be looking to disrupt the heavy success of the Galaxy S8 as well as the mildly accepted and welcoming arrival of the G6.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Mi6 will cost you 2499 RMB (~Rs 23,436) for the 6GB+64GB variant and 2899 yuan for the 6GB+128GB variant (~Rs 27,185). Also keep in mind that to allow the phone to provide wireless charging support, companies need to change the phone’s body from metal to a metal and glass construction and those things do not come cheap. It could mean that the device will come out with 6 GB of RAM upon release.
It comes with a dual camera setup at the rear – 12MP wide-angle sensor with 4-axis optical image stabilisation and a 12MP telephoto lens. On the storage side, Xiaomi Mi 6 will have 128GB of Internal memory.
On the camera front, the phablet is expected to get a 12-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
