Xiaomi Mi MIX features insane edgeless display

October 26 02:36 2016

Thanks to its full ceramic body, the Mi Note 2 looks quite impressive. The Mi Mix is a 6.4-inch Android phablet that boasts an unbelievable 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, putting it way ahead of the iPhone 7 (65.6 percent) and the Galaxy S7 Edge (76.1 percent). The display is a custom one with a narrower border, and unlike most regular smartphones it doesn’t have a selfie camera or a proximity sensor on top. This smartphone comes with 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage. The most unbelievable part is the powerful RAM; Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is equipped with 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage or 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage. We’re also looking at a AQSTIC audio processor, a 22.56MP rear-facing camera courtesy of Sony‘s IMX318 sensor, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

Lastly, Xiaomi announced the Mi VR headset. For you young folk, that’s a reference to a famous quote from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, but back to the point, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix smartphone is a bezel-free handset with a killer spec sheet.

This super-crazy smartphone packs in a crisp 6.4-inch bezel-less display. You also get a powerful 4,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Android Authority meanwhile is suggesting that the Xiaomi MI MIX will be available at around $516 for the 4GB/128GB combo, and $590 for the 6GB/256GB and gold accented version. It also packs in a gigantic 4,400 mAh battery to juice up the phone, which also features Quick charge 3.0.

Revealed at a press event on 25 October, the Xiaomi Mi Mix has a black body made entirely from ceramic. If you do, the Chinese phone maker will respond, “Bezels?” Xiaomi went with an LCD display, which is surprising given the screen’s rounded edge-to-edge corners. The first Mi phone to feature a dual edge curved flexible display, claimed by Xiaomi, but it isn’t flexible enough to bend or twist. However, the huge screen size does not necessarily mean that the smartphone will be much bigger than the existing array of devices available in te market.
