SAN Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York said Monday that Trent Baalke will remain general manager of the team with the knowledge that York isn’t satisfied with the recent results. This entire organisation is proud and grateful to have worked so closely alongside Jimmy. “We all wish him and his family great success in the future”.
“We hired Jim Harbaugh and we hired Jim Tomsula. You reap what you sow”.
There hasn’t been much time wasted in beginning discussions on who will take Tomsula’s place in San Francisco.
The 49ers finished their season at 5-11, and they may regret cutting ties with Jim Harbaugh after last season.
First things first, the 49ers must find a coach to put in charge of their situation.
York shot down speculation that his family is interested in selling the franchise, valued recently at $2.7 billion by Forbes.
Kelly was 26-21 in three seasons with the Eagles after signing a five-year, $32.5 million contract to leave the University of OR in 2013.
Unfortunately, Jed York has announced that Baalke will get at least one more year to prove his worth and Jed’s head is too far up his ass to recognize that he’s the most despised person in the Bay Area and is bad at his job.
Hayne is nearly certain to start in the 49ers’ final game of the season against the Rams.
-QB Blaine Gabbert completed 28 of 44 passes for a career-high 354 yards Sunday in a season-ending, overtime victory against St. Louis.
“It hurts a lot”, Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin said. Instead, the general manager made an appearance more than two hours later for an informal Q-and-A with reporters in the Levi’s Stadium media room.
“I’m sure people were thinking, ‘Oh, it’s just a no-brainer, ‘ but I’m trotting out there thinking, ‘I’ve missed one shorter than this, we’ve given up a couple blocks this year, ‘” Dawson said. As for leaks to the media, which have run rampant under the watch of York, the owner denied he was (as had been purported) the source of said leaks, directly or otherwise. “I’ve been in plenty of those”. “A season like this ages you”.
He was also just a fun guy to play for. “We’re fortunate in that our players have some versatility”.
“The past year has been way more than what I expected”, Hayne said, while laughing as his running back team-mates Kendall Gaskins and Mike Davis cracked jokes at his expense.
He wanted the focus on his players first.
York asserted that the 49ers will “spare no expense in getting the team back to its championship caliber”. “They’ve stuck together and went and won a game in overtime, and they fought like insane”, he said. “And today is about those players”.
They couldn’t stay afloat in the NFC West after experiencing an offseason that saw the departure of head coach Jim Harbaugh along with the loss of defensive leaders Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and Justin Smith to retirement.
“He also had his knee pads on upside down but we didn’t tell him”, Gaskins laughed.
