YouTube announces new plan for cord cutters

March 02 07:09 2017

The service will include live TV from ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW, ESPN, CSN, Fox, USA, FX, E!, Bravo, and 33 other networks.

YouTube TV is created to give viewers “the best of live TV” from shows to sport and local news. Your cloud DVR can record as many shows as you want, simultaneously, without using precious data or space on your phone, and YouTube TV will store each of your recordings for nine months.

Google has finally marked its entry into the domain of Internet TV, by introducing an all new YouTube TV service with about 40 networks on board to stream live broadcasts and cable feeds to subscribers. The service will also provide a cloud Digital Video Recorder (no storage limits) and exclusive YouTube Red Originals. Each subscription comes with the ability to create six personalized accounts and watch three concurrent streams at once.

YouTube is getting into the TV streaming business with a new service they’re simply calling YouTube TV.

The much anticipated TV streaming service is now official and will debut later this year with a price of $35 a month.

YouTube now has its YouTube Red service, which includes offline and ad-free videos, a music app, and original shows. It’ll also be available for virtually any screen, with it being on Android, iOS as well as on the TV via Android TV and Chromecast. Each account will have its own tailored recommendations and its own personal DVR. And just like a cable subscription, you can add premium channels like Showtime to your bundle for extra money per month.

It is possible tostream to a regular TV set with a Google Chromecast or watch on a Chromecast built-in TV.

The service, which should eventually be extended to other countries, will also allow programs to be recorded for viewing at a later date.
