OnePlus 6 launches with powerful specs and a huge display

Here’s what completes the powerful OnePlus 6, all for just $529. That’s very different from the OnePlus 5T that made of all metal, specifically anodized aluminum. The bottom features the USB Type-C port, speakers, and a headphone jack.

At first sight this is a typical OnePlus smartphone.

While fans are awaiting official confirmation on what the OnePlus 6 is like, there is plenty of speculation to tide them over until then.

The sad bit however is that even with a glass finish, the device still won’t support wireless charging. As said before, the use of glass on the back-shell indicate the phone will support wireless charging.

Where you’ll notice a bigger change in focus this year is in video.

The OnePlus 6 sports a 6.28-inch Full Optic AMOLED display. The device will come with a top notch and will have a screen-to-body ratio of more than 90 per cent. It does help in this regard.

OnePlus is a global mobile technology company challenging conventional concepts of technology. Announced alongside the new OnePlus 6 phone, they’re available at the end of June for $69 or £69 (we’re still waiting for Australian pricing but that converts to about AU$90). That’s going to be a big perk from now until August.

This isn’t simply a rebadged Oppo device in the way of the OnePlus 5 and 5T, but a thoughtfully designed handset that should really be taken seriously.

With any Bluetooth-enabled earphone, battery life is one of the most important aspects for the product to nail.

You get plenty of storage for apps, music, movies and the like as well.

OnePlus will offer a 256GB storage option for the first time paired with 8GB of RAM with the Midnight Black color for $629/€619/£569. This means that you will be able to join the program and get the latest version of Android on your brand new OnePlus 6. They have also improved the front selfie 16-megapixel camera and a future software update will also add a portrait mode to it. Both lenses sport an aperture of f/1.7 along with phase detection autofocus. That’s unchanged. It’s the increased individual pixel 1.22um sizes of the OnePlus 6 (up from 1.12um on the 5T) that will give you better low-light photos on the newer phone. This can be compromised, with 240fps at 1080p if the user wants higher resolution. Leaked images also point to a vertically-aligned dual rear camera setup, with the rumour mill pointing towards a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 16-megapixel secondary sensor. The smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo and may pack a 3,450mAh battery. But Dash Charge remains. That feat is possible thanks to integrated fast charging technology in Bullets Wireless. OnePlus says that the smartphone’s glass back panel will feature five printed layers of nanotech coating.

If we talk about the OnePlus 6 price in India, it is expected to start at Rs. 36,999 for the 64GB storage variant while the 128GB storage variant is said to cost Rs. 39,999.

The slogan for this launch is “The Speed You Need”, and speed is what this hardware seems to be offering, with a choice of 6GB or 8GB of RAM, packed with a Snapdragon 845 chipset (octa-core, up to 2.8GHz) and an Adreno 630 GPU.
